That was a whole new perception with all new faces when I first entered the IIIT campus. Just like any other rookie my heart was also going bumpie jumping! The world is with me-I can accomplish anything-I can reach the greatest heights with the feel of all my dreams coming true over a single night! The air was fresh and weather out marked the hot ambience outside the campus. All my favorite authors started playing their dramas in my mind. Even if I don’t know the name of those trees well-planted by the wide campus roadside, the director in me gave them some name!. My mind visited all those places where the director was pointing to along with my ever-loving characters. Suddenly deep inside someone told me not to get lost in my day-time reverie and that was the time when I first saw the C-block building in front of me.
So this is the place where I will have to start my career all from the scratch. A deep breath - I guess a bit of contemplation and pride was there in that! No one was there outside the building other than the security guard. It was a 3 storied or 4 storied building. As human nature my mind started counting; so even the building where I am going to get trained is this big from outside. Enquiring minds always thought of the gigantic "meal" waiting inside for me! On my left side, it was Remya and Vrinda on right. Sini and Meera walking ahead of us. I believe all were on the same track as mine (or may be the dramatic part wasn't there for them! I don’t know). Sini turned back just to make sure if we three are there right behind or not. And with a sort of satisfaction on seeing us she again turned to look at the building once again. My eyes started searching for Balu and found him walking in his usual style with Sandip.
Everyone is looking pleasant and so am I. I felt myself that the morning dullness already left three of us. It was a bad start that morning with an auto driver who showed us part of Gachibowli that day just excluding IIIT campus!!. He made us roam here and there for some while with Sandip looking at his wrist watch in between-just to make sure that it didn't strike 9.00AM. I was all on a jolly mood wondering where the hell we are standing! Balu signaling for an auto that passed by my side. I answered all those tensed calls that I received from Remya and Vrinda in between. The four took another auto and were waiting for us outside the campus main gate. By the time we 3 reached the campus it was for sure that we already passed the reporting time.
We stepped into the building and the security helped us to make it up to the induction room. As we opened the door it was almost like a pin drop silence in the room with all the chairs neatly drawn out and all the eyes turned back to see the late comers. Managed to get adjacent chairs for us, we sat just behind some other mallus. They were really making fun that day.
To become the part of a big sea, I allowed myself to enter the new world in the garb of a professional!
